Jimmy Jean-Louis

Jimmy Jean-Louis was born in Petion-Ville, Haiti.

1980
Jimmy moved to Paris where he left shcool with a degree in
Business. With no where to sleep, his love of performing kept
him off the streets and at the "Academie Internatinal de
Dance" during the day and in the night clubs of Paris at night.

1992
He moved to Barcelona, Spain where he spent two years
performing in a musical theatre "La Belle Epoque".

1994
In Milan he launched a successful modeling career working
with the likes of Valentino and Gianfranco Ferre.
When he appeared on a South African talk show in
Jahannesburg, he began to raliaze the scope of the
opportunities opening up to him." I was really blessed to
meet Nelson Mandela. We spoke, danced ands shook
hands."  
Making it in America

1998
To further nurture his talents Jimmy moved to Los Angeles
and cut his teeth with underground, independent movies.



2001
He nabbed a role in Jean-Claude Van Damme's "Derailed"
shot in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Jimmy Jean-Louis performed African drum (Djembe) with
recording artist Seal on Outlaws (Tupac's group) Album
released in 2002, the song title is"History".

2002
He spent four months in the jungles of Oahu in Hawaii in
the company of Bruce Willis and Monica Bellucci shooting
the movei "Tears of the Sun" directed by Antoine Fuqua.
Later that same year Jimmy appeared in Ron Shelton's
"Hollywood Homicide" with Harrison Ford and Josh
Hartnett.

2003
"Hoosiers" Directed David Anspaugh cast Jimmy in the
role of Je Gaetjens in the film "The Game of their lives"
also starring Wes Bentley and Gerad Butler. It was shot in
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

2004
Jimmy starred in "Phat Girls" with Monique Imes Jackson a
film written and directed by Nnegest Likke. He also had the
privilege of sharing the screen with Jane Fonda and
Jennifer Lopez in Monster-in-Law that same year.

2005
Jimmy completed principle photography on a number of projects
including: "Le President-a-t-il le Sida" (a movie shot entirely in
Petion-Ville, Haiti which raises questions about teh AIDS
epedemic in the Caribbean Island), "Life outside of Pearl",
"Cousins" and "Chthonic".

He is also developing a screenplay. "The Maroons"
The Maroons is a drama about friendships, its backdrop is the
political evolution of Haiti and its Diaspora.
Jean, Ronald, Claude and Philip are unlikely friends during the
end of the era of dictatorship of Haiti. The new democracy has
unexpected and catastrophic effects on their young lives. They
are scattered across different continents upholding opposing
ideals. Unitl the reunite a decade later, this time as unlikely
enemies ina Haiti struggling to maintain democracy.
